A 22-year-old Lugoff man died in a single-car accident around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to Kershaw County Coroner Johnny Fellers.

Barry Adam Lindsey, 22, of Tremont Road, Lugoff, died from massive head injuries sustained in the crash, Fellers said.

“This was at White Pond Road and S.C. 12. He disregarded a stop sign on White Pond Road, went through the intersection, striking a tree,” Fellers said. “We suspect high speed, and toxicology is being done.”

Fellers said Lindsey, who was driving a Dodge Charger, was wearing a seatbelt.
