A graveside service to honor the life of USAF, (Ret.) MSGT Frederick Allen Painter, of Lugoff, with full military rites will be held Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at 12:00 noon at Fort Jackson National Cemetery. Rev. Dearld Sterling will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday, October 31 from 3:00 til 5:00 PM at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Fred to Kershaw County Hospice, 2001 W. Dekalb Street, Camden, SC 29020.

Fred died Thursday, October 27, 2011. Born in Dunbar, WV, he was the son of Leoma Hartley Painter Teets and the late Weldon Allen "Buss" Painter. He was a retired US Air Force veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Nancy Painter; children, Debra Pennington (Jay) of Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, USVI, Sherri Jarrell (Jerry) of Salisbury, NC, Tammie Bowling of Saint Albans, WV; grandsons, Zach Bowling and Jack Jarrell; sisters, Kay Lacy (Lawrence) of Poca, WV, Sherry Lett of Lexington and Kathy Rustemeyer (Richard) of Las Cruces, NM; step-mom, Lynda Painter of Hiawassi, VA and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Patricia Painter.
