The Lugoff Optimist Club has updated and installed a new sign located on U.S. 1 South on the right side of the road as one drives across the Wateree River bridge from Camden.

The sign was produced by Signs Unlimited of Lugoff.  The landscaping was donated by Reynolds Nursery. The sign was designed by Optimist Club members: Sherri Barrett, Greg Newman, Henry Powers and Jill Wolfe.

Many folks in the community helped make this possible by contributions of funds, material and time. Those to be recognized for material and time are:  Bob (Dickie) Bowers, Craig Huggins, C. Ray Miles, Frank Rabon Construction, Lugoff Fire Department, Wolfe Mechanical and Reynolds Nursery. Monetary donations were contributed by Bruce and Sandra Hall, Dave and Anna Isgett, Joe and Betty Sue Upchurch, George Speedy Esq., First Citizens Bank, Powers and Gregory, Powers Funeral Home and Sub Station II.  Also, a special thanks is due to the sponsors of the 2010 Lights of Lugoff Christmas Parade. Proceeds from the event also helped make the sign possible.

Plans are underway for another sign to be purchased and placed on 601, Lugoff.  If you are interested in donating to make this possible, call Sherri at 420-0146.
