Few gives straight answers

Please tell me that I have just awoken from some bad dream. I have been researching the candidates running for S.C. House District 79, and I cannot believe what I am seeing.

We are in the middle of a historic groundswell of normal, everyday, taxpaying people, clamoring to take an out-of-control government away from politicians who spend too much and listen too little, and the Democrats are running … a professional lobbyist! Someone is not taking the voters seriously.

Ms. Butler says on her website that she will “advocate for policies that encourage parental involvement and empower local educators to improve their schools, based on local needs and perspectives” – what does that mean? Sheri Few has an education plan posted with specifics. We know what she will do because she isn’t afraid to tell us.

Mia Butler says that “As a legislator, I’ll focus on constituent services to help facilitate dialogue and communication among stakeholders at state and local levels…” Is that how you and your friends sound when you talk about the issues that concern us? Sheri Few says she will cut taxes and reduce senseless regulations and restrictions on the businesses that create jobs in the Midlands – and anyone who owns or runs a business here in South Carolina will tell you this needs to be done.

Asked for her opinion of the biggest problem facing District 79 and what she would do about it, candidate Butler reveals her slippery lobbyist background by saying that “some” in her district believe the most important issue is one thing, and that “others” believe it to be something else, and that her conversations with residents bring up a third “equally important” issue. That is the kind of impossible-to-pin-down political evasion that voters are too tired of.

Sheri Few gives straight answers to straight questions. She is the candidate that District 79 and our times call for.
