Former Camden High soccer standout and current Furman University freshman, India Robinson, was selected to the 2011 Southern Conference Women’s Soccer All-Freshman Team.

Robinson, a true freshman, tallied a goal and led the team with seven assists in her first year as a Paladin. The midfielder tallied an assist in her first collegiate match against Georgia before setting up game-winning scores versus Clemson and Davidson. She netted her first career goal in a 2-2 draw with College of Charleston.

Furman finished the season with a 12-8-2 record and advanced to the second round of the Southern Conference Tournament, only to be shut out by Samford, 1-0, in double-overtime.

Robinson left Camden High as the leading scorer in the history of the girls’ soccer program. She scored 85 goals while adding 49 assists for 219 total points, all of which are school standards.

Robinson was also a part of three straight Region 6-AAA championship teams coached by Stephen Sutusky and helped the Lady Bulldogs to a 14-4 record as a senior in 2011, a season in which CHS scored an opening-round state tournament victory over Cane Bay.

A finalist for the 2011 South Carolina Gatorade girls’ soccer player of the year, Robinson ended her high school career by being selected to play in the Clash of the Carolinas All-Star Soccer Game against the top players from North Carolina last summer in Charleston.
