The library media centers at Camden, Lugoff-Elgin and North Central high schools will sponsor virtual book fairs Monday through Dec. 5.

The fairs will be conducted through an Internet site, and the link for each school’s fair will be on that school’s eChalk homepage. Students, parents and community members are invited to shop at the virtual fairs. Student purchases will be shipped to their schools, and other shoppers can have their purchase sent to their homes.

The fairs feature books for babies through high school students as well as DVDs.

The schools’ media specialists said they are excited about sponsoring the 21st century style fairs as a way to promote reading throughout their schools and communities.

“We hope our students and communities will visit our virtual book fairs for holiday shopping,” said Susan McNair, library media specialist at Lugoff-Elgin High School. “A good book makes a wonderful present!”

The school media centers will receive a portion of the profits from the fairs.
