In early November, the Camden and West Wateree Rotary Clubs came together to provide shoes for Kershaw County students in need. The program, “Happy Feet”, gave deserving children vouchers to purchase a new pair of shoes at the Camden K-Mart.

“Thanks for the Camden Rotary and the West Wateree Rotary for again sponsoring the ‘Happy Feet’ program,” wrote Kershaw County School District (KCSD) Superintendent Dr. Frank Morgan on his blog, “This is just another concrete example of how our community, regardless of disagreements that might exist over other things, always comes together to support its young people.  Many thanks to both clubs.”

According to Gibson Tucker and Thomas Anderson, co-chairs of the Happy Feet project, 85 children came out to received shoes.
