Students of the Applied Technology Education Campus (ATEC) collected a record 1,004 jars of peanut butter during Red Ribbon Week in October as a part of ATEC’s annual project to benefit the food bank of Christian Community Ministries. Students were asked to bring in jars of peanut butter. The goal was 1,000 jars. Last year students contributed 907 jars. Students in the protective services, cosmetology and practical nursing programs collected the most jars and earned a movie and popcorn day in the auditorium. The entire student body will get a pizza party for exceeding the school goal. Showing off a portion of the peanut butter haul are protective services students James Johnson, Cody Lane, Kelsey Griham, Tierra Williams, Kayla Gonzalez, D.J. Grim, Dilon Price and Katharine Morse.
