Former Lugoff-Elgin standout, Grayson Quick, was named to the 2011 Mid-South All-Conference football team.

A true freshman kicker/punter at the University of Pikeville in Kentucky, the 5-foot-11, 175-pounder was a multiple honoree as he was named first team all-conference as a kicker while also being accorded honorable mention all-conference as a punter.

Quick, a 2011 graduate of Lugoff-Elgin and a four-year starting kicker for Scott Jones’ Demons, led the highest-scoring Pikeville football team in school history by scoring 52 points for the Bears this past season. He set a new school mark for most extra point made and attempted in a season when he made 40 of his 42 PAT tries. He also found the mark on four of his six field goal tries, including a 42-yard against Faulkner University in September.

Quick, a member of the 2010 South Carolina Shrine Bowl team, set a new Pikeville standard when he was successful on all nine of his PAT kicks in a 63-18 win over Southern Virginia. He also had games in which he attempted eight PAT kicks (second most in school history) and made six (third-best in school history.)

On the defensive side, Quick punted on 44 occasions and averaged 40.7 yards per kick. He had both the second-longest (70 yards) and third-longest (68 yards) punts in school history. Five of his punts traveled 50 or more yards with 13 burying the opposition inside their own 20.
