Miss Davis, Mr. Furniss exchange vows

Miss Dorothy Jean Davis and Mr. John “Buddy” Allen Furniss Jr., both of Camden, were united in marriage September 17 at Beulah United Methodist Church in Camden. John D. Howle officiated the 5 p.m. double ring ceremony. A reception was held afterward at the Elks Lodge in Lugoff.

The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell “Rusty” Davis of Camden, is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Murray Smith and Ms. Laura Davis Lee and the late Mr. Russell Jennings Davis. She is currently employed as an LPN at Springdale Health Care.

The bridegroom, son of Mr. John Furniss, Sr. and the late Marilyn D. Furniss of Lugoff, is the grandson of Mrs. Carolyn Rowell Dority and the late John T. Dority, the late John J. Furniss, and the late Gladys Debruhl Furniss. He is currently employed with Callahan Grading, Inc. as a heavy equipment operator.

Ms. Barbara Tyler was the pianist for the ceremony. Rusty Davis, father of the bride, also sang and played the guitar.
The alter was decorated with two flower arrangements in the memory of the groom’s mother and the late Roger J. Davis, the bride’s brother.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white strapless A-line gown with a sweetheart neckline. The bodice was adorned with pearls, which matched her fingertip veil. She carried a bouquet of white lilies and pink roses.

The matron of honor was Mrs. Ashley Carter Addison of Camden. She wore a chiffon satin tea-length fuchsia dress and carried a bouquet of white hydrangeas and pink roses.

Bridesmaids were Krista Lee and Allie Furniss, both daughters of the groom. They wore chiffon satin tea-length bright pink dresses with bouquets that matched the honor attendant’s.

The flower girl was Kelsey Furniss, daughter of the groom. Her dress was floor length and matched the honor attendant’s.

The best man was Mr. John Allen Furniss, Sr., father of the groom.

The groomsmen were Jason Furniss and Chandler Davis, son of the bride, both of Camden.

Brady Furniss, son of the bride and groom, was the ring bearer.

The bride’s mother wore a royal blue strapless fitted sheath.

After a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, the couple resides in Camden.
