My Thanksgiving story

I am a 66-year-old senior lady who lives on Social Security and a small check from my past husband. I am thankful all the time, not just Thanksgiving. I try my best to help someone or touch someone if it is only a smile. I’ve always rather give than receive, but this story really touched heart and it happened to me.

Two months ago my 2002 car stopped on me and I thought it was the transmission as the gears would not change. I prayed a lot and talked to different people, trying to find an honest person who would not do me wrong. Sometimes people take advantage of ladies and we don’t know any better. Anyway, I went to Johnson’s automatic transmission service. There I met Craig. It is a family business and he is the son. I talked to him about my financial situation and my car, which was still parked at home. He asked me to bring my car to him, which I did. Remember, they only work on transmission, but Craig worked on my car himself and put other parts in my car trying to find out the problem. Anyway, it was not the transmission, so he took all the parts out he had put in to keep from charging me. He called me and said he could not fix my car but he is now in the process of trying to find me someone who works on different things in a car and who will treat me right.

I know his parents are very proud of him and they sure raised him right. Although he could not fix my car, I sure met a friend who went way over the line to help me and I thank God for him, and I ask God to bless him and his family. I think he is such a good person, and these days and times, they are few and far between.
