The Lugoff Fire Department will have the honor of escorting Santa Claus through the neighborhoods in Lugoff this year. Santa will be escorted through different areas of the Lugoff community each night this week. Several residents of Lugoff have requested this event return to the community so children can have the opportunity to see the “Jolly One” before he comes on Christmas Night, LFD Chief Dennis Ray said.

LFD, with the help of sponsors throughout the community, has been able to host this event and others, including “Pictures with Santa” that brought more than 600 people to the L-E High School on Dec. 2.

Parents can call the Lugoff Fire Department at 438-2553 to find out what day Santa will visit their neighborhood. The tentative schedule, weather and staff permitting, is as follows:

Thursday, Dec. 15th: Ward Road Area and U.S. 1 S.-Pine Mark/Four Seasons Area

Friday, Dec. 16th: Ridgeway Rd/SC 34 Area and Pine Grove Road Area

Santa will ride through each neighborhood on the fire engine from 6 to 8 p.m. nightly. Engine drivers will have the red lights activated on the fire truck and carefully use the siren horn to let residents know Santa is riding through.
