Proposed KCSO service fee concerns councilman

A service fee proposal by the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) has garnered both praise and criticism from county council members looking to define the scope of such fees for the use of off-duty deputies. Kershaw County Sheriff Jim Matthews said the primary purpose of the proposed fee is to entice off-duty sheriff’s deputies to work events like funerals, school functions and community gatherings.
