Thank you, CPD officers, for your respect

Recently, my mother-in-law passed away. On Jan. 1st, we had her funeral at Powers Funeral Home in Lugoff. Robbie and his team went to great lengths to be sure everything was done in a very professional way. I am not writing to thank them. I was able to thank them in person. I am writing this because of the policemen who work for the city of Camden. The respect they showed as the family members and friends went through the stoplights was greatly appreciated. I grew up in Camden and as long as I can remember, our policemen stood with stoplights blinking and hats over their hearts. What an awesome act of kindness you still show to families of the deceased!

My pastor has been teaching about doing acts of kindness for other people. Everybody should try it. Even if it’s small, it’s probably just what that person needs at that time.

So, my hat goes off to you, our police officers with the city of Camden. My husband and I thanked each one of you who worked at the stop lights and stop signs on New Year’s Day as we went past. I knew you couldn’t hear us, so, that is why I wrote this letter to you.

Thank you and I pray that God will bless you,
