Jackson leads Demon wrestlers to second at Border Wars event

Led by sophomore Chris Jackson, the Lugoff-Elgin High School wrestling team finished second in last weekend’s Border Wars tournament hosted by South Point High School in rock hill.
Fort Mill brought home the team title with 208.5 points. The Demons were next with 170 followed by South Pointe, which had 152.5 points.
Jackson, who wrestles in the 113-pound division, was named the most outstanding wrestler for his efforts in winning his classification.
Jackson was one of five champions for Evan Moxie’s troops. Brandon Noel was the 106-pound champion with Harrison Kruger, Zach Connell and Allen Jenerette winning at 106-, 152-, 195- and 220-pounds, respectively.
The Demons also received a third-place finish from 182-pound Wade Branham.
