Mrs. Diane Peacock Collins, 45, of Barnwell, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Providence Hospital in Columbia.

Born January 20, 1966 in Bennettsville, she was a daughter of Margaret and Bill Copp and the late Charles Gordon Peacock. She was a 1984 graduate of Blenheim High School. She was married to Jeff Collins.

Diane was on the Board of Directors with the National Federation of the Blind of South Carolina. She was a president of the Barnwell Chapter of the Federation of the Blind. She served as a camp counselor for Camp Rocky Bottom, a summer camp for blind youth. Her love for her home town and old friends burned strongly.

She is survived by her husband, Jeff Collins of Barnwell; her parents, Margaret and Bill Copp, of Lugoff; a step brother, Allan Copp of Florence; her beloved uncles, aunts, cousins and friends, and her dog and friend, Jake.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Gordon Peacock and her step brother, John Copp.

A graveside funeral service was held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, January 9, 2012 at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Bennettsville. Visitation was held from 4 until 6 p.m. Sunday, January 8, 2012 at Burroughs Cooper Kiser Funeral Home in Bennettsville.
