Kershaw County Library was recently awarded a $10,000 grant from  Central Carolina Community Foundation for website redevelopment and branding.

Redeveloping the site will make the library’s services easily accessible by a broader base of patrons, and will be compliant with federal guidelines addressing web users with disabilities.

Central Carolina Community Foundation recently awarded Organizational Impact Grants totaling $53,500 to six nonprofit organizations serving the Midlands. These grants support creative and innovative programs that address Central Carolina Community Foundation’s two key initiatives -- dropout prevention and illiteracy reduction.

In addition, the Foundation’s Board of Trustees awarded three grants totaling $25,390 from the Pierrine & Hootie Johnson Fund. This is a competitive process for arts organizations.

Foundation President and CEO JoAnn Turnquist stated, “We are thrilled to assist organizations that have the passion and drive to make a lasting impact on our community.”

Other nonprofits receiving Organizational Impact Grants include Fast Forward Technology Center, Reach Out and Read of the Carolinas,  Richland County Public Library, SC Economics, and  Tutor Eau Claire (Eau Claire Shalom Ministries).

Grants awarded to arts organizations through the Pierrine & Hootie Johnson Fund include: Columbia Museum of Art, Cultural Council of Richland and Lexington Counties and South Carolina Philharmonic.
