The Family Resource Center needs caring and committed volunteers to assist in victim services. A volunteer training is scheduled for March 5-9 and March 12.

The Family Resource Center serves abused and neglected children as well as adult survivors of childhood abuse and sexual violence in Kershaw and Lee Counties.

Volunteers for victim services will be trained to support the 24-hour hotline and respond to victims at the hospital. The Center provides 25 hours of free training prior to volunteers going “on-call.” This is an excellent opportunity for individuals considering education or work in the field of counseling, social work, and law enforcement.

All volunteers must be interviewed by a Center staff person, pass a SLED background check, and be at least 18 years old. Volunteers for victim services must also have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive at night.

Potential volunteers may get an application off the center’s website at The application must be dropped off or mailed to the Center, P.O. Box 282, Camden, SC 29021.

To schedule an interview or get more information contact Christie Derrick or Ginger Goodale at 425-4357 or 800-585-4455 during office hours 9 a.m. -5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
