Sixth-grade students at Lugoff-Elgin Middle School -- including Tyesha Jett, Katelyn Vandevander, Brandon Phillips, Justin Dorton,Otensia Anderson, Turner Stockman, Camille Sullivan, Autum Walker-Cornell, Zac Branham, Elizabeth Talbert, Jay Lynch, Caitlyn Simon, Caden Britton and Greta Tautkus -- participated in "speed booking" during their lunch period. The event was coordinated by Jennifer Lanier, a University of South Carolina intern under the supervision of Anne Lemieux. Students were given 30 seconds to "sell" their book to the student across from them and then they rotated. This experience gave the students the opportunity to discover new books they might be interested in reading and work on persausive techniques. The students then enjoyed pizza together.
