I am running for Sheriff because of the passion and love that I have to serve others. As a life time resident of Kershaw County I have seen the changes this county has made and will continue to make. I have the background to lead the people of Kershaw County as the next sheriff. I know the good and the bad of this county; I love all people and want to protect, serve and honor this office. I want to give the people, the communities, and businesses a working relationship they deserved. I want to see positive change and not just change. I want our young people educated about the laws so they can make good choices and have relationships with law enforcement before they get into trouble. I want our seniors check on and in constant communication with the Sheriff Department.

I have been a SC State Trooper for 8 year, 6 years in Kershaw County. US Naval Reserve Military Police 7 ½ years working in many states in the United States. I served Kershaw County for over 20 years coaching our youth and young people. Kershaw County Council for 6 years and Vice Chairman. What are you goals for the sheriff’s office?

My goals for the Sheriff’s office are to :

• Create a traffic safety unit to reduce response time to accidents, thereby saving lives and reducing accident-related costs

• Work with the business community to identify problems that they are facing everyday

• Create a Crime Scene Investigation Unit (CSI) to promote evidence control and to eliminate inconsistencies with current crime scene investigation tactics

• Develop an Internal audit branch for the Sheriff’s Department in an effort to promote best practices and resolve issues that permeate a negative view from the community

• Create a Citizens Advisory Board

• Continue to protect our schools and create a cadet program that identifies future law enforcement officers

• Improve follow-through in Sheriff’s office to reduce the number of cases that are thrown out each year.
