McBee edges Knights

McBee junior Rashad Reed outscored North Central junior Jeremy Fowler, 34-31 in the points battle, as Reed and visiting McBee escaped from The Castle in Boonetown with a 69-67 victory on Friday night.
The defeat left Chad Dixon’s Knights with a 1-5 record in Region 3-A with four games left in the regular season. The Panthers improved to 2-4 in league play.
In addition to Fowler’s career-best 31-point effort, NC sophomore center Kawan Hough added a dozen points. Justin Black was next for the Knights with seven with Gregory Holmes adding six points.
McBee made a sweep of the night as its girls topped the Lady Knights.
Dutch Fork throttles Lady Demons: Second-ranked Dutch Fork handed visiting Lugoff-Elgin an 86-42 loss in a Region 4-4A contest played in Ballentine on Friday night.
Von Duncan’s squad fell to 2-7 in conference action with the setback.
Senior guard Aneka Dixon led the Lady Demons with 16 points with junior guard Dahiana Rodriguez next with 13 points.
