King Haiglar Garden Club to meet Monday

The King Haiglar Garden Club will meet on Monday at 3:30 p.m. Jan Tilford will host the club at 1709 Mill St. Camden. Carolyn Brown and Michelle Herod will help to provide delicious refreshments for everyone to enjoy!

An informative program “Benefits of Chocolate” will be presented by master gardener Julie Trott. The arrangement theme for February is “Love is in the Air.” Members are reminded to bring horticulture specimens from their gardens. All specimens and arrangements need to be at the meeting by 3 p.m. for judging. This month’s judges are Cathy Moss, Eve Montgomery, Betty Sue Webber, and Jane Hannon. Garden Maintenance for February will be done by Carolyn McKittrick and Harriett Thomas.

The club welcomes visitors and guests who enjoy gardening to attend! Contact Nancy Carlson at 432-6280.

February Garden Tips
1. Divide and move perennials.
2. Prune established rose bushes on Valentine’s Day.
3. Trim or mow ornamental grasses and divide if necessary.
4. Prune and shape evergreen shrubs.
5. Flower of the month: Violet
