A memorial service for Andrew Benjamin "Benjie" Cowan, 55, of Lugoff, will be held Monday at 4:30 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Kershaw County Mental Health or the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Mr. Cowan died Wednesday, October 27, 2010. Born in Barnwell, S.C., he was the son of the late Clifton Odel Cowan and Peggy Juanita Irvin Cowan. He was an artist.

Surviving are his sister and brother-in-law, Rita and Keith Gunter of Cassatt; 5 nieces and nephews; 11 great-nieces and nephews; and many dear friends from the Kershaw County Mental Health Center, and the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Camden, S.C.
