Chris Oviatt, the Republican nominee for Kershaw County auditor, was listed in the Kershaw County delinquent tax sale roll in Wednesday’s edition of the Chronicle-Independent for a property on Broad Street in Camden.

Oviatt said Thursday that he took care of the payment after seeing the listing. He said he jointly owns the property, and that there was some confusion between him and the co-owner. Oviatt said it was an instance where they both thought the other had paid the taxes on the property.

Steve Vincent, the county treasurer, confirmed Oviatt made the payment.
