Why are you running for office?

I believe that every citizen has a voice and that voice deserves to be heard. My background in government and business began in high school and has continued up to the present. This has taught me one lesson. You have to become involved to make a difference. I am running for Auditor of Kershaw County to bring transparency, fiscal responsibility and accountability to the Auditor’s office. I want to be your voice. This is more than an election it is a job interview. I want you to hire me. I would be honored to have your vote on November 2nd.

What experience qualifies you for this office?

At the age of 16 I became involved in government by volunteering for local and state candidates seeking election. I served as Chairman of South Carolina’s College Republicans, and was nominated as the Southeastern Regional Representative to attend the Leadership Institute in Washington D.C. I worked my way up to personally being hired by candidates running for Governor, US Senate, and a Presidential Campaign. I have served as Chairman of the Kershaw County Republican Party for the past three years. This coupled with my experience of running a small business and the skills necessary to compete in the private sector give me a solid foundation to guide my efforts for success in the Auditor’s office.

What are your goals for the auditor’s office?

I intend to work diligently to make the Auditor’s office more responsive to the needs of the citizens of Kershaw County. The office will become a model of transparency, accountability and efficiency. First, the office checkbook will be put online to enable the residents of Kershaw County to see where their hard earned tax dollars are being spent. I will be accountable to voters of Kershaw County. I will personally keep the Auditor’s office open after hours one night a month to answer one on one questions or concerns you may have. Third, the Auditor’s office website will be updated, making it more user friendly by maximizing today’s technology. I will strive for efficiency without taking away personal service you expect from a government agency. Fiscal discipline will be my top priority when it comes to your tax dollars.
