Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mary Douglas Bowers, 82, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Rev. Richard Cameron will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30 PM Monday March 5, 2012 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel.

Mrs. Bowers, widow of the late Thomas Marvin Catoe and Alby W. Bowers, Sr., died Saturday, March 3, 2012. Born in Camden, SC, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Sarah Benton Douglas. Mrs. Bowers was a former employee of Town & Country Manufacturing, Skyline Manufacturing, and a member of New Life Christian Outreach. Memorials may be made in her memory to the Agape Hospice, 700 West DeKalb St. Camden, SC 29020 or New Life Christian Outreach, 313 Thrush Lane, Lugoff, SC 29078.

Mrs. Bowers is survived by her daughters, Loretta Kennington (Dale) of Lugoff, Norma Mangum of Camden, Mary Ethel Dixon of Lugoff; sons, George William Catoe (Jill), Marvin Allen Catoe (Janice) and John Allen Bowers (Cher); grandchildren, Melissa Kennington, David Kennington, Chris Dixon, Will Catoe, Tanya Ross, Becky Rosado, Allison Catoe, Jennifer Guyton, and Betsy Parker; 13 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Johnnie Mae Spears and Marie Altman, of Andalusia, AL, and Vernell “Beatty” Cain, of Camden; 2 brothers, John Henry Douglas and Thurman Douglas, both of Andalusia, AL. She was predeceased by 2 sisters, Grace Catoe and Sarah Ella Morris and a brother, Bobby Douglas.
