Construction will begin this spring on a new building -- shown in the rendering above -- which will house Lugoff Toyota. The facility will be built on the site of the present dealership on U.S. 1 South in Lugoff.

Construction will begin this spring on a new home for Lugoff Toyota, to be built on the dealership’s existing site at 878 U.S. 1 South in Lugoff.

The new building will consist of more than 25,000 square feet of the “most current and modern facility amenities,” according to Mark Mason, president of Lugoff Toyota, a President’s Award winner. Construction is slated to start in early spring with completion before year end.

Mason said the company will invest in excess of $3 million in the new facility. When the building is completed, he said it is anticipated that Lugoff Toyota would hire eight to 12 additional employees. Lugoff Toyota has 38 employees and an annual payroll in excess of $2 million.

Lugoff Toyota selected the present location, Mason said, after the overwhelming support shown by the Camden-Lugoff community and the entire Kershaw County area.

“We appreciate this area and want to give back whenever we can,” Mason said.

The new dealership will be built primarily with local contractors and sub-contractors to support the local economy, he said.
