Mr. and Mrs. Christopher J. Stroud of Elgin announce the engagement of their daughter, Ms. Heather M. Stroud, to Jonathan Van Ness Proctor of Lugoff. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. L. Derrick Proctor of Lugoff.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Jeff Stroud of Columbia and Mr. Francis X. Sholly of Columbia. She is currently a student at Midlands Technical College.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Ms. Betty Jean Proctor of Lugoff and Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Osteen of Camden. He is a graduate of Coastal Carolina University and is employed at Powers Funeral Home in Lugoff.

The wedding is planned for May 5, 2012, at Bethel Worship Center in Camden.
