The Camden Garden Club will hold its next meeting on Monday, April 9. Most of the members will gather together to carpool and caravan up to Liberty Hill to the home of Sunshine Smith.  For those who do not know Sunshine, her personality matches her name to a tea! The program will be on organic gardening and this is the perfect place for it. She will share with the members her wonderful garden and many secrets and insights for a successful green garden.

Members will bring in arrangements and specimens from their own gardens with the suggested theme “Carolina in the Spring”. They can utilize only fresh materials from their own yards and gardens for the arrangements. With the talented gardeners in the club it will surely be hard for the judges. This month they will be Amy Cantey, chairman, Cathy Clark, Sarah Reed, and Flonnie West. Last month Lee Walker brought in three different varieties of camellia japonica earning her two blues and a red. Catherine French went wild with her creativity doing three arrangements. Her “Hydranga Extravaganza” and “A Rose is a Rose” both won blues and her “Spring Surprise” took home a red ribbon. Both of Peggy Mays’ arrangements, the “Tulips and Lenten Roses” and her “Azaleas” won blues.

After the judge’s report, a brief meeting, and the garden tour, hostess chairman, Jill Bettendorf, along with Nancy Cheek, Debra Gregory, and Anne Rainey will put out a wonderful spread of  sandwiches, cookies and treats as members sit on the porch sipping tea and enjoying the afternoon.
