It is time to crank up the buses for the post-season.
All six Kershaw County high school baseball and softball teams will take to the state’s highways and byways for the first round of state tournament play which opens with district action this week.
Due to scheduling conflicts and proms, some of the dates and game times have been changed including that for the Lugoff-Elgin softball team’s first round encounter at Carolina Forest, which will be played tonight at 7 p.m.
Here are the first and second round scenarios for each program. (Note: Third round elimination games will be played next Monday with district championship play slated for next Wednesday.)

The other half of the bracket has Region 6 runner-up Darlington playing host to Dreher, the fourth-place finisher in Region 5.
