King Haiglar Garden Club takes field trip

The King Haiglar Garden Club will gather at the home of Nancy Wylie, 414 Laurens St. Camden for a field trip. All attending should be at Nancy’s by 11:20 a.m. on Monday for departure.

Members and guests will carpool for an exciting and educational trip to Bishopville. The sites scheduled to visit are The Cotton Museum, the historic James House known for its Camellias, and the Pearl Frye Topiary Garden. Lunch will be enjoyed during the tour.

There will no arrangements or specimens. Garden maintenance during November will be done by Marguerite Glasgow and Marietta Gordon.

November Garden Tips

1. November is one of the best months to plant azaleas, camellias, and rhododendron.

2. Plant winter annuals such as pansies.

3. Plant spring blooming bulbs outside.

4. Start forcing bulbs inside to enjoy during the holidays.

5. Keep leaves and pine needles raked off grass.

6. Harvest broccoli.
