Last month, the Camden Garden Club had a fabulous meeting. It was a perfect day in a perfect setting. The home had large picture windows from every room creating an open airy feeling as you looked out over Colonial Lake.

The program was an introduction to arrangements and a random group of members were selected to participate. They were to create an arrangement for the remaining members to judge. This gave everyone a chance to get involved and really experience the whole process. Hopefully encouraging those that have not yet tried to make arrangements to go ahead and give it a go. Catherine French, club vice president, provided a wide variety of greens and flowers as well as containers in all shapes and sizes. The members that made arrangements really seemed to enjoy themselves and were pleasantly surprised at their creations.

This month the meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Jim Watts on Monday. It should be another fabulous program. Cheryl and Doris Kahn will be introducing, and educating members, to Ikebana, the art of Japanese Floral Arranging. They are both members of the Columbia Ikebana Club.

The theme for this month’s arrangements for club judging is “Bold and Beautiful” using cornucopia of fall flowers, vegetables, and fruit. Kay Lewis will be the head judge, and Liz Beard, Mary Margaret Calk, and Shirley Kiger will help her out since the entries should be bountiful.

Afterwards everyone is invited to sample all the lush and tasty tea sandwiches and desserts that Joanne Cushman, hostess chairman, Linda Culler, Marilyn Kohn, and Alice Thaxton will serve.
