Miss Welsh, Mr. Cousins wed

Miss Erin Leigh Welsh of Camden and Mr. Curtis Joshua Cousins of Sumter were united in marriage on May 18, 2012 at Sans Souci Farm in Sumter. Reverend Jimmy Atkerson, grandfather of the bride and Reverend Walter Shealy, grandfather of the groom, officiated the 6 p.m., double-ring ceremony. A reception followed at San Souci Farm Pavilion.
The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Welsh of Camden, is the granddaughter of Reverend and Mrs. Jimmy Atkerson of Camden and Mrs. Christine Welsh and the late Mr. George Welsh of Sumter. Mrs. Ethel Graves of Camden is the great-grandmother. She is a student at Clemson University, majoring in Architecture.

The bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Dowd of Sumter and the late Mr. John Cousins, Sr., is the grandson of Reverend and Mrs. Walter Shealy of Irmo, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Cousins of Irmo, and Mrs. Sybil Cousins of Newberry. He is a student at Tri County Technical College, majoring in Nursing.

Rebecca Walston was the violinist and Bryan Welsh was the vocalist.

The bride, given in marriage by her parents, wore a lace-over-charmeuse, fit-and-flare with a sweetheart neckline and chapel train. The veil was elbow-length with beading. She carried a bouquet of white calla lilies, roses, and baby’s breath.
The maid of honor was Miss Lindsay Welsh of Columbia. She wore a one shoulder chiffon, aqua dress with rosette details. She carried a bouquet of white calla lilies.

The bridesmaids were Megan Jesse of North Augusta; Brittany McLeod of Sumter; and Mathan Mooneyhan of Lugoff. Their gowns and flowers matched the honor attendant’s.

The best man was Mr. Logan McGarity of Rock Hill.

The groomsmen were Jay Cousins of Hanahan; David Dowd, Jr. of Columbia; Sam Dowd of Sumter; and Kevin Vandermolen of Central.

The couple will take a cruise to the Eastern Caribbean after the wedding.
