Elizabeth Rohde Schultz

An inurnment for Elizabeth Rohde Schultz, 89, of Camden, will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, May 25, 2012 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. A memorial service celebrating the life of Mrs. Schultz will follow at 4:00 PM at Rice Estate Nursing Home, 100 Finley Rd., Columbia. Rev. Paul Sizemore and Rev. Carl Voges will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:30 – 7:00 PM Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel.

Elizabeth was born in Saginaw, MI in 1923 to Erwin and Elsa Trump Rohde and was married for 60 years to the late Robert C. Schultz. She attended Valparaiso University and graduated from the University of Michigan in 1945 with a nursing degree. Elizabeth was a cadet in the United States Nursing Corp in WWII. She worked as a volunteer nurse with the Red Cross for 30 years and volunteered as a school nurse at Camden Junior High and Camden High School for 7 years.

Elizabeth was a member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church and a former member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbia. She was an active member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. Her hobbies included gardening, golfing, bridge and bowling.

Survivors are her children; son, David Schultz (Martha) of Chicago, IL and a daughter, Mary Beth Schultz of Camden, SC; a granddaughter, Anna Schultz-Herrera (Antonio) of New York City; brother, Robert P. Rohde (Patricia) of Sanibel, FL. Elizabeth was predeceased by her brother, Erwin C. Rohde (Margaret) of Marblehead, MA.

Memorials may be made in Mrs. Schultz’s memory to Food for the Soul, 110 East DeKalb St., Camden, SC 29020.
