It is very seldom that we have a person holding public office of whom we are truly proud. We have such a person in Jimmy Jones, Kershaw County councilman.

Recently, I was faced with a problem involving a state agency. Several friends, familiar with the situation, suggested I contact Jimmy Jones for assistance.

I knew Jimmy only through his election campaign and his representation of the residents of Lake Wateree when opposing increased taxation. Though I normally handle my own problems, I took the advice of my friends and called Jimmy. I explained my situation to him and without hesitation he said, “Don’t worry about this anymore. Let me take care of it for you.” Shortly afterward, the problem was resolved.

I called Jimmy to express my appreciation and his response was, “It is not necessary to thank me. This is my job and even though you are of the lake is no longer in my district, I will continue to be available if you need additional assistance.

We desperately need more people in office like Jimmy.
