Venus appears as a black dot transiting the Sun in this photograph taken Tuesday by Ed Roberts of Dalzell. Roberts -- who plays tuba with the Camden Community Concert Band -- took the photo through welder’s glass using a Kodak Easyshare camera with a 21x wide-angle lens.
