Funeral services to celebrate the life of Cornelia Aldret Boykin "Conney" Bell, 76 of Lugoff will be held Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in Grace Episcopal Church with burial to follow in Quaker Cemetery. Rev. Doug Holmes will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 9, 2010 from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. Memorials may be made in Mrs. Bell’s memory for her many years of service to Unit 17 by contributing to the American Legion Children and Youth Commission, P.O. Box 1055, Indianapolis, IN. 46206-1055.

Mrs. Bell, wife of Billy W. Bell died Monday, November 8, 2010. Born in Camden, she was the daughter of the late Col. Brevard Boykin and Cornelia Aldret Boykin. Conney was raised as an army brat and was a graduate of Flora Macdonald College. She was a former dental assistant, teacher, head lab technician, nurse and owner /operator of the Silk Worm Florist in Camden. Mrs. Bell was a member of Grace Episcopal Church. She was a former president of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 17, State Department President for the SC Ladies Auxiliary, National Chaplain of the National Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion, she served for many years as counselor for Girls State and she was also a volunteer with the Dorn VA Hospital.

Surviving in addition to her husband; are her children, Billy W. Bell, Jr. and his wife Louise, Brevard B. "Vardie" Bell and his wife Dottie, Susan B. Leitner and her husband Kelly, Charlotte L. Bell and Cathryn Bell; twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a grandson, Bryant B. Bell.
