Don't vote for supporters of 'sham tax'

Those voters, aka taxpayers, that attended the Kershaw County Council meeting to protest the idea that the Sheriff’s Department would be downgraded to Kershaw County Police astounded the members of council to the extent this idea was abandoned. This is not to be left laying around. Don’t be surprised if this move becomes a part of another move or to be brought before council to vote on again.

All of these actions are another ruse, ploy and attempts to cover the idea that this council still intends to push through the idea of a 1-cent tax increase. Who is behind the effort? Who is it that wants to have all of the money to spend at whatever scheme he or she wants to spend this tax for?

This so called project started out as an effort to raise money to build county parks for just some of the neighborhoods in the county. There are at least 13 different areas of the county that could or would benefit from a park being in their area. Only a few areas were listed to have a substantial building and playgrounds as well as ball parks. Why not all?

There is nothing in the annals of recorded Kershaw County history that says that the county has the responsibility to provide an area of this type for the entertainment of those that live in the county. Will these parks be used solely for those and only those that live in this county? This is a pipe dream if you believe this. Those that cannot vote for this effort will be the ones that will be paying for this sham of a tax. Those that are not even born yet will be paying for this tax for years and years to come and these (people) will not have any say in the matter.

Let those that want to have this tax entered into the rolls stand up and say, “I (and give his or her full name) want this tax.” I doubt that those that want this “sham tax” will have the backbone to stand before the taxpayers of this county and profess. Time to come clean. Can the county legally build these parks? There is a vote for some of these offices that will appear on the ballot for the June primary. Do not vote for the current members of council that are on this ballot as well as those interlopers that have a solution to the problems of Kershaw County. Dump the lot of them and start with a clean slate with the idea that the citizens of Kershaw County will insist on a re-call for those that fail to produce positive actions and those that will look out for the children of this county now and for the future.

Eliminate those that are for “taxation without representation.” The time has come to stop subsidizing the income for these tax, tax, tax greedy members of council.

The following is a quote from Patrick Henry….

“The liberties of a people never were, nor ever will be, secure, when the transactions of their rulers may be concealed from them.”

Also from Sir Winston Churchill…

“We contend that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle.”

For Kershaw County citizens to prosper, each will have to make up his or her mind and eliminate those members of council that insist to raise a tax for the benefit of none of its citizens.

For those that will support any member that is running for a seat strictly because these so-called representatives, from “our” district, has made a promise to help the citizens is only going to hurt all concerned because of the taxes. Just think about what help “you” are going to receive other than you will have to be paying more and more taxes. This selfish individual has one concern and that he is going to be paid money by each of you that vote for this individual until he has been eliminated from public office. His greed for more money from those in the least that can afford a tax increase. This greedy group of members of council shows how little each of them are representing the honest voters and how less than honorable they think of the trust that has been placed in them.

Their campaign slogan should be put “me” back in the office that I seek so “I” can spend your money.
