RUNNERS BEGIN THEIR 10K trek as they hit the street in last year’s Colonial Cup run. This year’s run/walk event is set for Saturday, Nov. 20 at Historic Camden.

The 16th annual Colonial Cup 10K Road Race and BlueCross BlueShield 5K Run/Walk will be held Saturday, Nov. 20 at Historic Camden Revolutionary War Site, to benefit those receiving services from the Kershaw County Board of Disabilities and Special Needs.

There will be awards given in numerous categories and door prizes. All runners and walkers are eligible for door prizes.

The 10K run is on a challenging USAT&F certified course and is part of the Tour de Columbia. Food will be provided. The race and walk will start at 8:30 a.m.

The race is listed on a number of Web page calendars and online registration is available at www.strictlyrunning.com. The fee for the race and walk is $25 in advance and $30 the day of the event and includes a 2010 T-shirt with the Colonial Cup logo for the first 200 registrants. For more information, contact Caroline Tucker at 432-4291 or carolineftucker@hotmail.com.

The event is sponsored by the Kershaw Center Disabilities Foundation for the benefit of the Kershaw County Board of Disabilities and Special Needs and the road race is a “Colonial Cup Official Community Event.”
