Funeral services for Betty Jean Pritchard Smith, 80, of Camden will be held Saturday, November 13, 2010 beginning 11:00 AM at Malvern Hill Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Craig Thompson and Rev. Buster Morris will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday, November 12, 2010 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Kornegay Funeral Home Camden Chapel. Memorials may be sent in Mrs. Smith’s memory to the ASCEND Foundation, Children’s Cancer Awareness Education and Prevention, PO Box 80925, Charleston, SC 29416.

Mrs. Smith, widow of Thomas Clyburn Smith, Sr. died, Wednesday, November 10, 2010. Born in Sumter, she was the daughter of the late Harry Cuttino Pritchard and Corine Brown Pritchard. Mrs. Smith was the co-owner of Easy Living Home Center in Bishopville. She was dedicated to her family, friends and her church. Mrs. Smith was a lifetime member of Malvern Hill Baptist Church and was actively involved in mission trips.

She is survived by her children, Thomas C. "Tommy" Smith, Jr. and his wife Susan of Camden and Tammy Smith Brown and her husband, Don of Camden; grandchildren, Thomas Chadrick Smith, Stephanie Marie Smith and Jordan Alexis Brown; sister, Dorothy P. Logan of Sumter and brother, Richard Lynwood Pritchard of New Bern, NC. She was predeceased by her brothers, Harry Cuttino "H.C." Pritchard, Jr., James Harvey Pritchard, Cecil Alvin Pritchard and John Russell Pritchard.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
