The Gardening Girls Study Club are pictured here at Cedar Knoll (located in Camden), former home of Lucy B. Pomeroy, the second president of the Garden Club of South Carolina Inc. and former president of the Camden Garden Club.

Pomeroy bought the property in the early 1900s (it was built in the 1800s) and hired a landscape architecture firm from Atlanta and Philadelphia to landscape the property.

When current owners Herb and Janet Farber bought the property, they found portions of the terraced garden and restored the property, which has camellias dating back from the 1920s.

The Gardening Girls Study Club works on garden-related projects that benefit others; including historic preservation, landscape design, scholarships, horticulture, conservation, garden tours, and youth gardening. These ladies represent eight different areas of the state and meet all throughout the state.
