Two matches, one opponent, two wins.
So far, the North Central volleyball team has only met former Region 3-A rival Chesterfield on the court. And, so far, the Lady Rams are 0-2 against NC.
Tuesday evening, the Lady Knights topped Chesterfield for the second time in six nights with another 3-1 victory. This time, NC gave itself a bit more breathing room as Andy Johnson’s charges improved to 2-0 with a 25-16, 25-18, 16-25 and 25-17 victory inside The Castle in Boonetown.
Jo Phillips helped lead the way for the winners as the setter doled out 19 assists to go along with a trio of digs. Ashley Rogers played well on the defensive end with 16 digs to go along with two kills, two assists and an ace.
Along the front line, Erin Humphries had 10 kills, seven digs and an assist while Madeline Pate had eight kills and a pair of digs. Kayleigh Davis had eight kills, three blocks, two assists and a dig with Ambi Wood coming up with six kills a block and an assist in the win.
Following a Thursday home tri-match with Buford and Hartsville, the Lady Knights will head to Sumter on Saturday to take part in the Sumter Volleyball Spike-Off Tournament.
