Victim sees suspects drive off with household goods

The Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) reported that a man saw two people in a white Ford truck and a third in a green Dodge car driving down the street with his washer, dryer and stove in their vehicles.

The items were on the porch of a home on Watts Way, Camden.

The victim and the reporting person said the suspects will probably sell the items as scrap metal. 

The KCSO reported the following other incidents during the period of Sept. 3-10:

A man reportedly urinated in his friend’s front yard in plain view of a nearby neighbor who was sitting on her porch smoking a cigarette. The woman said a female urinated in front of the same home the night before and while looking right at the woman.

A man accused his father of taking food for his refrigerator and stealing two air conditioning units from his home on Old Georgetown Road, Camden.

A Cassatt woman reported that her Winchester Road neighbor was shooting guns in the direction of her house while she had guests over. 

Someone pushed an air conditioner unit from a window and stole four firearms from a home one Blarney Stone Road, Elgin.

Someone stole 40 cans of dog food, a weed-eater, a gas can and six garden lamps from a home on Linde Lane, Lugoff.

A man claimed his estranged wife climbed through a window and took items from his home on Jans Road, Elgin.

Someone stole more than $10,000 worth of car parts and copper wiring from a home on Fox Road, Lugoff.

Someone stole a laptop, iPad, purse and briefcase from a car parked on Laurel Place, Camden.

Someone stole more than $1,000 in goods from a workshop on Brewer Springs Road, Camden.

Someone stole more than $500 of lawn tools from a home on Breeze Hill Lane, Camden.

Someone shot out the window of a car parked in a Lugoff-restaurant’s parking lot.

Someone took two TVs and jewelry from a home on Painted Pony Court, Elgin.

Someone stole two guns from a residence on Three Branches Road, Lugoff.

Someone stole approximately $19 in goods from a Camden retail store.

Someone stole a laptop from a home on Longtown Road, Lugoff.

County deputies also assisted other agencies, served bench warrants and dealt with: nine assaults; five harassment and criminal domestic violence; four DUI, vandalism, disorderly conduct and burglary; three breach of peace and intimidation; two larceny and open container; one contributing to delinquency of minor, theft from building, missing persons, forgery, embezzlement, impersonation, statutory rape, failure to return rented property and simple possession of marijuana.


The Camden Police Department (CPD) reported that a Cassatt woman became “enraged” and tried to push a Camden woman over the edge of a porch when the when she was asked to pay back $10 she owed.

The Camden woman reportedly suffered a loose and bloody tooth as a result of the altercation.

The CPD reported the following other incidents during the period of Sept. 3-10:

A Bethune woman discovered someone stole her car keys out of the ignition when she returned from a residence on Broad Street.

A man allegedly cracked a Camden man’s windshield after the Camden man failed to give the unknown man $.50.

A Camden woman allegtedly threatened another woman with a large knife in a Camden grocery store parking lot.

Someone stole a computer, game system and DVD player from a residence on Laurens Street.

Someone stole more than $2,000 in jewelry and money from a home on Chestnut Street.

Someone tried to make a $179 purchase on a stolen credit card at a retail store.

Someone took a two wallets and a cell phone from a car parked on York Street.

Someone has been stealing water from a resident on George Wright Street.

Someone stole $15 in pennies from a car repair shop on DeKalb Street.

Someone withdrew $80 from a Cassatt woman’s bank account.

Someone drove off after failing to pay for $50 in gas station.

Camden officers also assisted other agencies, served bench warrants and dealt with four trespassing violations; three assaults; two simple marijuana and open container; one malicious injury to property, burglary, criminal domestic violence, threat, drunkenness, vandalism, DUI, driving under suspension, possession of a fake ID and possession of drug paraphernalia.
