It does not seem as if the move into the AA ranks has fazed the North Central volleyball team in the least bit.
The Lady Knights improved to 5-0 on the season by thumping rival Andrew Jackson in a three-game sweep Tuesday night in Kershaw.
Andy Johnson’s charges took the first game, 25-15, sweated out a 27-25 victory in game two before closing this one early by winning the clincher, 25-19.
Erin Humphries held lead the way for the winners, especially along the net as she smacked down a dozen kills. She also had five digs and a pair of aces. Jo Phillips set things up as she handed out 22 assists with two digs.
Madeline Pate had six kills, nine digs and an assist while Ashley Rogers came up with eight digs, two kills and an assist. Kaleigh Davis had four kills, two aces and a block while Julia Daniels contributed four aces, two digs and a kill. Ambo Wood added three kills and an assist.
NC carried its unbeaten mark into Thursday’s Region 3-AA opener with Keenan. Next Tuesday, Pelion comes to Boonetown in another conference pairing which begins at 6:45 p.m. The junior varsity contest kicks things off at 5 p.m.
