Senior Kyle Miller led a strong pack of Lugoff-Elgin cross-country runners in a sweep of Richland Northeast, Camden and Brookland-Cayce in a Wednesday meet hosted by RNE.
The Demons won the boys’ portion of the meet with 35 points followed by RNE (42), Camden (56) and Brookland-Cayce.
Miller traveled the 3.1-mile course in a time of 17:17. Demon sophomore teammates Andrew Mills, Conner Tully and Javier Polo finished fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively, to close the door on anybody else’s chances for a victory.  Hunter Johnson pushed hard to finish an important 19th while eighth-grader William Blakenship, who finished 22nd for L-E (1-1), would have scored well enough to ensure the team's victory.
Camden’s top finisher was Clark Joseph, who turned in an 18:10 finishing time.
In the girls’ side of the meet, Alexis Blakeney and Raechal Sampson led the Lady Demons (0-2) in a loss against a strong Richland Northeast team.
Blakeney finished in a clocking of 25:09 in a race won by Camden’s Jordan Woody, in a time of 21:59.
The host Lady Cavaliers won the event followed by Camden, B-C and L-E.
The L-E cross-country teams host Irmo next Wednesday at 5 p.m.  The race will start and end at the softball field at L-E High Schoool.
