Spartans run to a second place finish at O’burg Prep XC meet

Another event, another improved finish.
For the third time in as many starts, the Camden Military Academy cross-country team improved on its previous race. Tuesday, John Heflin’s runners finished tied for second in an 11-team meet hosted by Orangeburg Prep.
The Spartans finished with 79 points and tied with Orangeburg-Wilkinson for second behind Wilson Hall, which had 53 points. South Aiken Baptist was next with 112.
The top finisher for CMA was Tyler Van Buitenen, who came in fourth out of 124 runners in a time of 20:04. Tripp Osteen was 10th in a time of 21:47 while Spartan teammates Brian Guarino and Simon Falk came home 12th and 13th, respectively, in times of 22:03 and 22:07.
Other CMA runners and their finishes included Alexey Kuimov (40, 25:03), Cody Auberger (51, 26:08), Robbie Hart (58, 27:26), Jamar Arrindell (76, 30:02), Brady Stien (80, 30:24), Tanner Allison (81, 30:25), Ross Hogan (88, 31:07), Trent Martin (89. 31:08), Christian Trzanadel (94, 31:57) and Patrick Carty (95, 31:58).
