The Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County hosts 2012 annual meeting

The Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County (FAC) will host its annual meeting on Thursday, Sept. 20 at 6 p.m. in the Jim & Pat Watts Performing Arts Wing at the FAC. Donors, friends, participants and volunteers are especially invited to gather as the Center reviews its accomplishments in 2011-2012 and announce its plans for an exciting 2012-2013 season.

The FAC staff and Board of Directors will host the annual meeting celebration beginning at 6 p.m. in the newly constructed Jim & Pat Watts Performing Arts Wing behind the Wood Auditorium. Guests will be able to gather for a social hour with delicious hors d’ouevres by Aberdeen Catery prior to the official business meeting.

A brief business meeting and the election of new members: Carolyn Ham, Claude Eichelberger, Connie M. Frith, Beth Ford, Judy Smith, Dionne Hough and Boyd Black to the board will follow. Retiring from the board this year are: Scott Rankin, Joy Claussen Scully, Sheila McKinney, Agnes Slayman, James Davis, Maude Cooper, and Rose Sheheen.

Following the business meeting and election, the FAC will present the Ben Bostick Award for Vision, the Harriet Phelps Service Award, and the Volunteer of the Year award.

There is no charge for the annual meeting and the public is welcome to attend.

The Fine Arts Center is funded in part by the Frederick S. Upton Foundation and the South Carolina Arts Commission, which receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts. Additional funding provided by the city of Camden, Kershaw County, and BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina along with donations from businesses and individuals.
