The Camden Fire Department (CFD) will host the 17th annual Fire Fest at Rhame Arena on Saturday, Sept. 29. Rhame Arena is located on the corner of Bull and Broad streets in downtown Camden.

In addition to the annual parade, there will be games, prizes and food for the whole family to enjoy. The CFD has incorporated various health screenings, a residential fire sprinkler demonstration and free child safety seat checks into the event.

“As we kick off National Fire Prevention Month, we want to remind Midlands residents that it is important to read our fire safety checklist,” CFD Chief John Bowers said. “We hope that the free health screenings and fire prevention measures demonstrated at Fire Fest will educate our community about how to prevent fires from happening.”

The CFD thanks the following businesses for their contributions and sponsorships for this year’s event: the Camden and Lugoff IGAs, Sonic of Camden, Piggy Wiggly of Camden, Browns Funeral Home, Marshall Landscaping, Camden Fire Extinguisher, Furniture Services Inc., Davis Lawn Care and Spartan Apparatus.
