Saturday golf tourney benefits girls' soccer team

The Lexington County Soccer Club’s (LCSC) Kershaw 95 Lady Strikers Soccer Team, a first-year girls U-17 soccer team made up of varsity and junior varsity players from both Camden and Lugoff-Elgin high schools, is hosting a fundraising golf tournament to benefit the fledgling program on Saturday, Oct. 13 at the White Pine Golf Club in Camden.
The tournament is an 18-hole, four-player captain’s choice which has an 8 a.m. shotgun start. The entry fee is $180 per team ($45 per player) which includes lunch.
Prizes will be awarded at the conclusion of play to the top three finishing teams. Awards will also be presented to the player(s) with the longest drive and closest to the pins on designated holes. There will also be drawings for door prizes.
In addition to playing in the tournament, there are also sponsorship opportunities available for business and/or individuals. Sponsorship includes signage on a tee box, recognition on the team’s T-shirt, and special recognition before, during and after the tournament. In addition, donations of $100 or more gives donors the opportunity to enter a team at a discount or, for free with a donation of $500 or more.
Here are the forms of sponsorship and their amounts: Partnership ($1,500), Hole-in-one sponsor ($500), Eagle Sponsor ($300), Birdie ($200) and Tee Box Sponsor ($ 100).
Additionally, a donation of $50 or more will get your and/or the name on the business back of the team’s T-shirts. The Lady Strikers is a U-17 girls’ soccer team that is a part of the Lexington County Soccer Club. Lexington County Soccer Club is and is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization. LCSC is a “classic” (competitive) league club which participates in the Mid District of South Carolina Sandlapper League, the Palmetto Classic League, the PMSL State Wide League, the SC State Challenge League, and in Region III East Premier League in age groups U9 through U18.
In an effort to develop the sport and increase awareness of soccer in Kershaw County, LCSC has provided an avenue for athletes to play in the off season.
