 An Elgin woman’s internet “pen pal” has failed to repay $660. The Elgin woman told Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) deputies that her long-term Kentucky pen pal told her that she was behind in bills, that she had a large sum of medical bills, and “how bad her life was.” The Elgin woman sent her pen pal the money through mail, and requested a note listing when the woman would pay her ...
